Issue: Item missing or can’t be played. This issue is common enough to list it on the Zune.Net site under “Most popular articles”. We regularly see this warning when trying to view video podcasts. The videos may play on our PC using the Zune software but not on the Zune 80 or 120 players. We 1st noticed this when trying to play Episode 5 of the Zune Luv video podcast. Another Zune 30 owner had no issues with the file but we were unable to play it on either our Zune 80 or 120 running version 3 firmware. We experience this same error on one of the TED Talk videos and seemly random videos downloaded with the NZI Business Podcast.

Solution: So far we have not been able to resolve this issue even after reseting our Zunes, re-synching, deleting and re-subscribing, complete erase and restore of our Zunes and Zune software. The issue appears on two different Vista machines using two different Zune players and two different Zune.Net accounts. It is particularly mysterious in that at least one other person using a Zune 30, upgraded to version 3 firmware, can view Episode 5 of the Zune Luv podcast on his Zune. This is an issue crying out for additional attention by the Zune team.

Issue: How do I find Zune.Net forum postings on the Zune Net site? When help is clicked in the Zune software you are taken to the Microsoft support page and a link to forum but that link takes you to limited “community assistance” postings.

Solution: Click on the grey forum link and once the forum page is displayed scroll to the end and again click on Zune Forums. This link takes you to a full listing of forum topics
