Zune now supports the Audible audio book format and has WiFi Sync which in some ways sets the bar for other players. Downloading and playing both audio and video podcasts is seamless and now supports a smooth back and forth seek in audio files.

Although users are still dependent on the Zune desktop client when managing files,
the software is more intuitive and responsive. Audio quality is exceptional and for this reviewer, clearly superior to Apple iPod audio. The display crisp, easy on the eyes ... equal or superior to competing video enabled players.

The Zune MarketPlace still uses Microsoft coinage to purchase content but now sports
a subscription music service similar to that offer by Rhapsody and Napster. Customers can use the built-in Wireless Sync to download subscription songs or to purchase content.

Though the MarketPlace selection does not match that offered by the more mature Rhapsody service, it is impressive and growing. Microsoft is breaking new ground as it continues to offer unique ways to share and discover new content.
The Zune Social is happening!
